This semester is going by quickly! It is already time to be thinking of Final Exams. Start preparing early so that you can do your best. If you are a Junior or Senior thinking about taking a class with Gadsden State Community College for Dual Enrollment, go to Gadsden State’s website and click on course offerings to see the schedule of their classes for Spring Semester. We need to start the process for enrolling in those classes. We have two classes that are taught during C-Block on our Westbrook campus. They are U.S. History I and Psychology.
If you are a Sophomore or Junior who took the PSAT and or PLAN in October, you will get your results in late January or early February. I will explain each part of the report to you so that you understand all of the information.
We are still taking the $5.00 for dues for 2011/2012 Beta Club Membership and National Honor Society Membership. The deadline for paying this was extended from October 14 to October 21. There are still a lot of people who have not paid. We are extending the deadline one last time to November 18. Anyone who has not paid dues by that date will be removed the Beta Club and National Honor Society Rolls. I hope everyone will remember to pay your dues because we want to keep all of our members.

Senior Update:
WCS seniors are receiving acceptance letters almost daily. This is such an exciting time! Please remember that all application information must be sent in to most colleges by December 1, to be considered for academic scholarships. This includes transcripts. So, if you have not received your acceptance letter, check your online application status to make sure that everything has been received by that college. Also, don’t forget to ask me to send your WCS transcript to each college to which you are applying.
Junior Update:
Eight juniors, along with Ms. Arnold and I, had a wonderful tour of the Jacksonville State University Campus last week. On November 16, thirty-eight juniors plan to tour Auburn University. On November 30, eight juniors are planning to visit Samford University. We are very fortunate that our administration approves and encourages two college visits with classmates for each junior student. Next semester we plan to tour Birmingham-Southern, University of Alabama, University of Alabama-Birmingham, University of Alabama-Huntsville, University of North Alabama, and Wallace State Community College.
